Costume Character Positions for Kroger Grand Opening in Indianapolis! AGAR, a Cincinnati-based company, is thrilled to represent Kroger at their new store grand opening in Indianapolis, IN! We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill the following positions: Job Overview: As a Mascot Character, you will serve as the face and voice of our brand, representing our company, team, or organization in a fun, energetic, and engaging way. This role requires you to perform in a mascot costume at various events, including sporting events, community outreach programs, corporate promotions, and other public appearances. Event Details: - Arrival Time: 9:00 AM - Performance Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Location: Kroger Store, 5960 Castleway West Drive, Indianapolis, IN, 46250 Mascot Character Key Responsibilities: - Perform as the Mascot: Wear the mascot costume during appearances scheduled time. - Engage with the Public: Interact with fans, children, and other attendees, posing for photos, dancing, high-fiving, and creating an exciting atmosphere. - Promote Brand Image: Ensure that the character consistently portrays the values, image, and personality of the brand or organization. - Support Event Activities: Participate in event-related activities such as contests, giveaways, photo booths, and other interactive experiences. - Maintain Character: Stay "in character" at all times during public appearances, using non-verbal cues and gestures to communicate with the audience. - Adhere to Safety Guidelines: Follow all safety protocols, including proper costume care and maintenance, to ensure the safety and comfort of yourself and others during performances. Mascot Character Qualifications: - Physical Fitness: Must be able to perform physical activities like dancing, jumping, walking, and standing for extended periods. - Energetic and Enthusiastic: A high-energy personality with the ability to entertain and engage audiences of all ages. - Creative & Expressive: Ability to express emotions and engage with audiences through body language, facial expressions (when possible), and gestures. - Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with other event staff and handlers to ensure successful appearances. - Experience: Previous mascot experience or performance background is a plus, but not required. Mascot Character Sizing: - Mascot Performer: Paul - Height requirements: 5’9’’ - 6’1’' - Build requirements: Average build - Mascot Performer: Danielle - Height requirements: 5’6’’ - 5’10'' - Build requirements: Thin build - max 32’’ waist Compensation: - Mascot Pay: $350 flat - Handler Pay: $245 flat Job Overview: The Mascot Handler is responsible for assisting the mascot performer during public appearances. This role includes ensuring the mascot character has everything needed for successful interactions and safe performances. The handler works closely with the mascot performer, offering support and handling logistics behind the scenes. Mascot Handler Key Responsibilities: - Support Mascot Performer: Help the performer get dressed and undressed in the mascot costume, ensuring they are comfortable and ready for appearances. - Assist with Movement and Logistics: Ensure the mascot can safely navigate through crowds, handle props, and get to and from event locations. - Keep Costume in Good Condition: Make sure the mascot costume is clean, well-maintained, and free of any malfunctions or damage. - Monitor Mascot's Safety: Be vigilant about the well-being of the mascot performer, ensuring they take necessary breaks to avoid overheating or exhaustion. - Coordinate with Event Staff: Work closely with event coordinators, production teams, and other staff to ensure the mascot is in the right location at the right time. - Direct Audience Interaction: Help manage crowds and guide fans or participants to ensure that photos and interactions go smoothly. - Handle Mascot Props and Gear: Carry and manage any mascot-specific props, such as signs, toys, or giveaway items, and ensure they are ready for use during the performance. - Assist with Post-Event Cleanup: Help remove the mascot costume after the event and ensure all equipment is packed up and stored properly. Mascot Handler Qualifications: - Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with the mascot performer, event staff, and audience members. - Physical Stamina: Must be able to help with moving the mascot costume and assist the performer in a variety of environments (e.g., crowded areas, outdoor events). -Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think on your feet and handle unexpected situations, such as costume malfunctions or schedule changes. - Team-Oriented: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Attention to Detail: Ensuring everything is ready for the mascot’s appearance, including costume maintenance and logistics. - Previous Experience: Experience in event coordination, customer service, or as a mascot handler is a plus but not mandatory.
