About the Job As a Product Specialist for an iconic American automotive brand you would be the face of the brand at community events. As a product specialist you must have a love of people and the ability to learn about product. Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic Product Specialist local to the Des Moines, Iowa market to represent an automotive brand throughout 2025 at various local events. If you are passionate about people, have a basic understanding of automotive technologies, and excel in making connections between the two, this role is perfect for you. You'll be responsible for engaging consumers at a variety of functions, while highlighting the unique features and benefits of our products. Key Responsibilities • Product Expertise: Act as the go-to expert on our vehicle lineup, offering detailed knowledge of each model’s technologies and features. • Public Engagement: Lead captivating product demonstrations and presentations for clients and event participants. • Technical Communication: Simplify and explain complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences. • Event Representation: Represent the brand at events, trade shows, pop-ups, and product launches, serving as the primary product expert. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other vendors and clients onsite for flawless onsite execution. • Industry Awareness: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies. Need to Have: • Location: Must be local (within 40 miles of Des Moines, IA). • Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of automotive technologies, including infotainment, connectivity solutions, and vehicle components. Willingness to learn more advanced technologies. • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of resolving technical issues during live demos and presentations. • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills, with a focus on creating positive interactions. • Travel Availability: Willingness to travel within the greater Des Moines area. This position may need overnight travel for some events. Events often require weekend and evening work. Advancement in this position could lead to some national travel. Nice to Have: • Event Experience: Experience representing automotive brands at trade shows or other public-facing events. • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with autonomous driving systems, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicle (EV) technologies. • Automotive Experience: Prior experience as a product specialist or similar role in the automotive industry.
