Job Overview: TxDOT is launching a pedestrian safety campaign aimed at reminding drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians to stay alert and watch out for each other at some of Texas' busiest intersections. The goal is to create a strong visual impact that encourages safer interactions on the road. We are seeking 5 Brand Ambassadors for this campaign. You will actively walk along designated paths while wearing a backpack billboard, engaging with pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers to promote safety awareness. They will distribute campaign messaging non-verbally at intersections, maintain enthusiasm, and ensure a cohesive activation. Responsibilities also include tracking impressions, reporting key insights, conducting surveys using an iPad, and gathering public feedback on pedestrian safety, all while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor. 4 Brand Ambassadors will wear backpack billboards and 1 staff will be responsible for taking surveys and tracking impressions. Event Location: Dallas Event Address: TBD Date & Time: March 28, 1:30PM - 6:00PM Pay: $28.00/hr Job Responsibilities (Backpack Billboard staff): Wear a backpack billboard and actively walk along designated paths for the duration of the activation. Engage with pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers at intersections to promote safety awareness. Follow outlined walking routes and maintain energy and enthusiasm throughout the shift. Distribute campaign messaging in a non-verbal, high-visibility manner while walking and at intersections where vehicles stop. Wear provided campaign shirts and reflective gear (as needed) and adhere to uniform requirements. Work closely with the team to ensure a cohesive and effective activation. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor while interacting with the public. Responsibilities (Survey Taker): Track impressions using the provided protocol document. Report and capture activation information and insights for client recap. Conduct surveys and collect responses using a provided iPad and designated online link. Engage with pedestrians and cyclists to gather feedback on the campaign. Accurately log responses and provide insight into public sentiment regarding pedestrian safety. Qualifications: Must be comfortable walking outdoors for extended periods (4-hour shifts). Strong communication and engagement skills. Ability to interact confidently with the public while representing the campaign. Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions precisely. Ability to wear and carry a lightweight backpack billboard comfortably. Previous experience in brand ambassador roles or event activations is a plus. Comfort with using an iPad to collect survey responses. Friendly and engaging personality to encourage participation.
